Corys 32 Update – 2/23/2011

I picked up a ’35-36 car column drop to modify for the roadster.  I cut it where it necked down, and then cut another wedge from the base.  This allowed the two faces to be parallel after mounting the base to the curved ’32 dash.  I ended up stretching it 2 1/2″ to match up with the steering shaft.  The next step is to finish the tube, and then ship everything to Baxter to get the drop and steering box rebuilt.

For the rear spring hangers, I started with some Pete & Jakes parts.  I really didn’t want a cookie-cutter look, so I modified the main plate (had to shorten it for my spring to axle tube dimension).  I cut some tapered pieces of 3/16″ plate and welded them to the main plate to give it a beam look.

Thanks,
Cory
