Thats right. The Stray Kat 500 in Dewey was friggin freezing and wet. Still now that I am back home, it all seemed worth while and a good show to support.
I followed Rudy down on Friday morning. After the snow we had on Thursday night, the drive on Friday was pleasant and got warmer the further south we went. Friday was an ok day weather wise in Dewey, cold but clear. Grumpy, Tucker and Bill went down on Thursday. Grumpy had the Ford out stretching its legs and Tucker had the Plymouth out trying to find itself a new owner.
On Friday afternoon there was a free feed at the hot rod shop on the corner (the name escapes me), but it was a good gathering of cars. Check out the pics, they are the ones without the rain!
Saturday was the show proper. And it was cold with 40% chance of rain. I think that means out of 100 % of the day there is a chance that there might not be rain on 40% of it! Anyway it was cold and mostly wet, but it could of been worse. There was a good turnout of cars and good support for Mick and the Stray Kat Customs club. We setup just to the side of the Hitching Post and by the end of the day we were inside said establishment! Hell, they even had Guinness for a decent price 🙂
Saturday night we ventured back to the Mexican joint that had the 50cent Margaritas last time, well I guess they learned their lesson and that is now the Sunday night special. Tucker did have a Corona-rita (or some similarly titled foofoo drink), it looked interesting, but I stuck to just the Corona part!
The irony of the trip is that almost the whole trip was under a black cloud… and it wasnt even Rudys! His Ford purred like a pussy cat down and back. Even with this being the maiden voyage for his new rear end and brakes etc, which I am sure he finished the night before we left – if not the morning of?
