Its a case of “beating the heat” and “the heat is on” to get to Salina this weekend.
Grumpy is busy changing over from an oddball toyota master cylinder & booster to a chevy one. On Saturday morning Mark welded up an adapter bracket that Grumpy had made. I dont know current progress as I bailed for my sons birthday party.
On Saturday morning I thought, glad I am not grumpy having to get that sorted out this week, especially when its so hot to be working on cars. All I have to do is replace u bolts on rear end, check fluids and insulate the cabin some more. But by the end of Sunday night I was looking at disassembled rear brakes on my Sedan Delivery. It started off with me wanting to fix my emergency brake that is super hard to apply. So hard that I have bent the lokar bracket and the cable was not aligned properly. I took that off, straightened it and welded a brace to the back of it. Then going on down the line to find the issue, the drag/friction/effort is all in the rear end. Seeing as parts are not too $$$ and I hadnt replaced them when I built the car I thought why not. Now I am waiting on parts to arrive and I guess have no guarantee it will fix anything!
First 2 pics are Grumpy, last one is me. Salina here we come!
That should say Baking at Salina Or is that next week?
Yeah really! Am I retarded? I mean who spends every spare second working in 100 degree heat on his car, so that he can then drive that car in said heat with no a/c and poor ventilation for a couple of hundred miles, so that he can then sit out in that heat for 2 days! But its Salina so it is worth it! Still I think I have rocks in my head 🙂
Kiwi, rather than, braking for Salina, It should be Breaking at Salina. Rudy
